2 volumes. Folio (540 x 400 mm). With letterpress cumulative index leaf, mounted on the front free endpaper of vol 1. Engraved allegorical title, index of maps in each volume, and 127 double-page and folding engraved maps only (of 135), hand-coloured in outline, after d'Anville, Janvier, Bellin, Robert de Vaugondy, Rizzi-Zannoni and others. Modern half calf. Vol 1 dampstained and chewed at lower fore-corner affecting title and table but generally not reaching into platemarks of maps, both volumes with a few faint dampstains at edges, lacking the Janvier world map, Asia, 3 of North America by d'Anville, and 3 of the ancient world, rubbed.
