Folio (350 x 213 mm). [pi]2 b-e2 B-8D2 [a]-[zz]2. List of subscribers. Engraved frontispiece and 4 engraved plates (1 folding), engraved and woodcut illustrations in text. Period calf rebacked, raised bands, decorative borders in blind to covers. Endpapers creased and worn, some wrinkling to frontispiece with short tears at head of same, worming to last quarter at fore-edge, minor scattered foxing and staining, covers rubbed.
Provenance: Dorothy Broadrick, bought from Mrs. Ayliffe in 1793 (ink inscription to reverse of frontis); Joseph E. Young (bookplate).

FIRST EDITION of this popular English gardening manual, which went through eight editions in Miller's lifetime. The work covers horticulture, agriculture, arboriculture, and wine making.
