Latin manuscript on vellum, a single leaf from Langton's Interpretation of Hebrew Names, [England, c.1250], recto and verso, 2 columns of 32 lines, dark brown ink, gothic script, 5 two-line initials in alternating red and blue, rubricated with initials, paragraph marks and line fillers in red, 205 x 144 mm.
Provenance: Sotheby's, December 12, 1966, lot 216 (Bible concordance manuscript bearing the period ownership inscription of John Leeche); later sold by Quaritch.

Entries for the letters 'R' and 'S.' Langton's dictionary of Biblical Hebrew, compiled between 1210 and 1220, was a familiar inclusion in 13th century Bibles.
