TORRUBIA, JOSE. La gigantologia spagnola. Naples: Muziana, 1760.
8vo (207 x 129 mm). [20], 150 pp. Engraved vignette to title and at head of main text, woodcut initials. Period full crushed morocco, raised bands, spine elaborately gilt in compartments, covers centered with large papal emblem of Clement XIII surround by elaborate floriated borders with large cornerpieces, a.e.g., floral pastedown endpapers with gilt highlights. Mild rubbing to covers.
Provenance: Property of a California educational institution.

FIRST EDITION, IN PAPAL BINDING OF CLEMENT XIII. The work itself is a curious one, in which the naturalist Torrubia examines the evidence for the existence in the past of a race of giants. Crofts 5456.
