CALLIGRAPHY.

BUSENITZ, JOHANN. Manuscript on paper, in German, Marienburg, August 2, 1713 and after.
4to (200 x 160 mm). Approximately 90 pp and several blank leaves. Including 27 double-page spreads with calligraphic exercises in green, red, yellow and black ink, each with elaborate decorative initial. Stitched. Custom chemise and morocco pull-off box. Some oxidation, toning, show-through, and ink stains, particularly to early leaves, rubbed, lacking upper wrapper.
Provenance: Property of a California educational institution.

Busenitz may have been part of the Mennonite community in Marienburg, known for its fraktur calligraphy.
