MULDOON, PAUL (b. 1951, Irish poet)

PORTRAIT BY PETER EDWARDS (b. 1955), oil on canvas, head and shoulders, slightly turned to the right, signed and inscribed on the recto by the artist ('P.E. 96') and on the stretcher ('Paul Muldoon painted in the garden of Tithe House Greet Winchcome Glos'), framed, size of image 30 x 22 inches (76.5 x 56 cm), overall size 33 x 25 inches (84 x x 64 cm), Gloucestershire, 1996

Only two photographs of Muldoon are in the National Portrait Gallery. The portrait was done for a cover of a book by Bloodaxe.
