of rectangular form with lifting lid, profusely decorated in polychrome and gilt, each side with a lobed cartouche flanked by ogee arches containing flowerheads, the top with an oval medallion containing the initials 'E M' on a ground of floral and foliate motifs, the border with a band of lobed cartouches on a ground of scrolling vines
