Qajar Persia, probably Qazwin, dated AH 1284/AD AD 1867-68

Arabic and Persian manuscript on paper, 10 leaves, 2 flyleaves, 7 lines to the page written in naskhi script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in black, double interlinear rules in gold, interlinear Persian translation written in minute shikasteh script in red ink, interlinear gilt decoration, illuminated markers between verses, one illuminated headpiece in colours and gold, inner margins ruled in blue, green, red and gold, catchwords in wide outer borders, three illuminated central medallions at beginning and end incorporating prayers and endowment details, corners rather thumbed, creased, some soiling, contemporary brown morocco with stamped central medallions, inner and outer borders painted silver, doublures of marbled paper, slightly worn
