comprising: an anthology including works by Zahir Faryabi (d. 1201) and Salman Sawji (d. 1367-68), Persian manuscript on paper, 275 leaves, 17 lines to the page written in two columns of nasta'liq script in black ink, other text written diagonally, inner margins ruled in gold, one illuminated headpiece, colophon with date AH 945, some crude repairs, corners rather thumbed, modern blue binding, 250 x 170 mm.; an unidentified poetical work in two columns of nasta'liq script, probably India, 17th-18th Century, inner margins ruled in blue and gold, contemporary brown morocco with stamped medallions of gilt leather onlay, broken in half but appears to be intact, 240 x 145 mm.; Khusrau va Shirin, Persian poetry, Herat, early 16th Century, copied by Mir Husain al-Jami, 71 leaves, 14 lines to the page written in two columns of nasta'liq script in black ink, inner margins ruled in gold, one illuminated headpiece, waterstaining, brown morocco, 200 x 130 mm.; a section from a manuscript of Firdausi's Shahnama, Timurid Persia, 15th Century, 10 leaves, 21 lines to the page written in four columns of nasta'liq script in black ink, intercolumnar rules in gold, first folio written in shikasteh a later replacement, titles in gold within cloudbands on a red cross-hatched ground, one leaf added, miniatures added later, black paper binding, tears to edges
