Arabic manuscript on paper, 391 leaves, 18 lines to the page written in a cursive script in black ink, significant sentences underlined in red, catchwords in wide margins, occasional commentaries written vertically and horizontally in margins, corners rather thumbed, contemporary brown morocco with stamped central medallions and cornerpieces of black leather onlay decorated with intertwining floral motifs, worn, some worming, with flap, 318 x 202 mm.; and a treatise in verse in praise of the Prophet Muhammad by Zayd al-Fazazi with metrical additions (Takhmis) by Abu Bakr bin Muhhib, copied by Ahmad ibn Muhammad Thani, Sub-Sahara, probably Nigeria, early 20th Century, Arabic manuscript on paper, 60 leaves, misbound, loose, 15 lines to the page written in sudani script in brown ink, significant verses and words picked out in red, extensive commentaries, edges frayed, browned, some staining, lacks binding
