Egypt or Syria, circa 1900

of shallow rectangular form with curved corners, profusely inlaid with silver and copper depicting scenes from the Old Testament including the Binding of Isaac and Moses bearing the Tablets of Stone, all on a ground of engraved scrolling floral interlace, the border with cartouches containing inscriptions in Hebrew interspersed by six-pointed star motifs
45.7 x 36 cm.

Hebrew Inscriptions: In the circles forming the arch identifying inscriptions for the Twelve Tribes; beneath the tablets "this is the shape of the angels"; and cartouches identifying The Wailing Wall, Mosses and Aaron.
