4.2 cm. diam.; 72 g.

Footnotes

Inscriptions: to one side, A form of the shahada common on early coins, and the place of minting "Ifriqiya," with an unclear date of AH 125; to the other side: sura CXII (al-ikhlas), the "throne verse."

As the sura-t al-Ikhlas was not used in the Abbasid period, this coin must predate AH 132 AH/ AD 749, the beginning of the Abbasid period.
