Eight line inscription:
bi-sm Allah a-/ mara Allah bi-l-wafa' wa/ amara bi-]tab'a mikyala/ qist zayt bi-fals/ [al-Qasi]m ibin Ubayd Allah ['ala/yaday Mu]slim ibin [al-'Araf]/ sanat tiss'a ['ashrata/ wa mia]
"In the name of God/ Or-/ dered God honesty, and/ ordered the stamping of a measure/ of a qist of olive oil for a fals/ al- Qasim b. 'Ubayd Allah at/ the hands of Muslim b. al-'Arraf/ in the year nineteen and one hundred"
There have been two specimens published, see Balog 1976 (191-192) from the same die. We know only two other examples of vessel stamps with denomination on the qist system and having a price as well (Morton 1985, 110). A qist of unidentified substance for a fals; and one unpublished in Strasbourg, a qist of laban al-hulw bi-fals or "sweet milk for a fals."
