comprising a brass ghalian element engraved with figural scenes surmounted by a band of inscription; a brass wine bowl engraved with scenes of festivities to the interior and hunting scenes to the exterior surmounted by inscription filled cartouches; a brass bowl engraved to the exterior with two rows of roundels containing kneeling and seated figures and various quadrupeds; a tinned-copper lidded bowl engraved with hunting scenes, floral vines and roundels containing quadrupeds; and a small brass bowl engraved with quatrefoil medallions containing seated figures

Inscriptions: to the ghalian element: a Persian quatrain in praise of qalyan.
zinat-deh-e bazm-e gol-rokhan qalyan ast damsaz o nadim-e 'asheqan qalyan ast 'What gives elegance to the party of rosy-cheeked ones is qalyan/ The confidant and intimate friend of lovers is qalyan'. The third verse is not clear and the fourth one is damaged. The couplet and images on this piece indicate that this piece was specifically made for women; to the large cup: Persian verses on wine in parts the same as poems by the 10th Century poet, Abu'l-'Ala Shushtari in the Loghat-nama; to the small cup, a quatrain and a couplet in Persian on wine and drinking (unidentified).
