Deccan, 17th Century

of baluster form, on a splayed circular foot, the globular body with central ridge, the multifacetted shoulder rising to slightly everted rim, separately cast dome shaped lid surmounted by bud shaped finial, decorated to foot and rim with engraved overlapping leaf motifs, to body with bands of scrolling floral motifs, birds and quadrupeds including hamsa, elephant and mythical creatures, to neck with foliate motifs
