Footnotes

According to Zebrowski, ribbed pandan boxes form a distinct group dateable to the 17th and 18th Century and are evocative of the grand ribbed domes of Indian architecture (M. Zebrowski, Gold, Silver and Bronze, London, 1997, pp. 275-76).
