An engraved copper Bowl
Golconda, Deccan, 17th Century or later

on low spreading foot, with compressed globular body and high circular neck terminating in slightly flaring rim, the body covered with engraved decoration consisting of inscription cartouches alternating with interlace filled medallions between narrow bands of scrolling split palmette vines, the neck similarly decorated with calligraphic and geometric patterned medallions with flowerheads in between flanked by pairs of birds, a border of interlinked trefoil and leaf motifs to foot and a repetitive slanting leaf pattern to rim
