An impressive Qajar cuerda seca pottery Archway
Shiraz, Persia, 19th Century

composed of two columns and a panel above, decorated with tiles painted in polychrome with various imagery, a floral vase with perching birds, a panel with two figures drinking and a lion and sun motif above, a cartouche with a courtly lady and cherubs supporting the vase, with an inscription, the panel with an enthroned ruler flanked by lions, peacocks and birds, servants presenting food and divs
columns 263.5 cm. high, the panel 64.7 x 139 cm.(3)
