US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY.
A set of 31 large film negatives probably used in the offset printing of the USGS's Atlas of Mars, published in 1976, being shaded relief and "controlled photomosaic" negatives, various sizes, most approximately 940 x 800 mm, together with several smaller negatives or parts of negatives.
The Atlas of Mars consisted of topographic and geologic maps derived primarily from data returned by Mariner IX in 1972. The maps were published at four scales: single-sheet maps cover the entire planet at 1: 25,000,000; a set of quadrangles covers the entire planet at 1: 5,000,000; and several sheets at 1: 1,000,000 and 1: 250,000 were made of selected areas for special studies.
