Footnotes
The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in 1924 for King Ferdinand of Romania and is No. 1 of a pair.
King Ferdinand presided over Romania's entry into World War I, where he took the side of the Triple Entente against his German roots. It was because of this that Kaizer Wilhelm II of Germany had King Ferdinand's erased from the German ruling Hohenzollern family, to which King Ferdinand was connected.
