A Russian Dragoon Officer's 1881/1909 Pattern Shashka
Reign Of Tsar Nicholas II (1894-1917), Circa 1910

With earlier curved nickel-plated fullered blade (point with area of minor pitting on one side), the back at the forte etched 'L. E. P. O. Zlatoust' in Russian and dated 1860, regulation brass hilt cast and chased with laurel decoration and comprising knuckle-guard extending to form a downcurved ring quillon, pommel with cypher of Nicholas II on the back, fluted pommel-cap, and ribbed wooden grip, in original wood-lined brown leather scabbard with brass locket and chape (suspension mount missing)
