Two Continental Cuirassier's Swords

The first German and of French ANXI type, with tapering fullered blade (some pitting) double-edged at the point, the forte on one side with bladesmith's details 'W. Schmolz & Co., Solingen', regulation brass hilt of three bars swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, brass pommel-cap, and cord-bound leather-covered grip with replacement wire binding, in original steel scabbard (light pitting) with rings for suspension; the second a French ANXI model, with bright fullered blade stamped with two inspector's marks on one side of the forte, the back at the forte etched 'Mfture Imple Du Klingenthal Octobre 1813', brass hilt similar to the last and numbered '1948', and ribbed leather grip bound with twisted brass wire (2)
