With curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point in front of the yelman, the fuller on one side with gold-damascened Turkish poem against a ground of scrolling foliage (some wear), the forte on one side with a cartouche-shaped panel en suite containing bladesmith's name 'Chelebi', hilt comprising border engraved quillon-block with bluntly-pointed langets and tapering quillons with bud-shaped terminals, reeded silver grip-strap and rounded rhinoceros horn grips, the pommel pierced for a cord sword-knot, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather with deep locket and chape engraved with foliage, the shaped suspension mounts en suite with the quillon-block and each with a ring for suspension, and retaining some original gilding
