Turkish Silver Marks, Possibly Reign Of Abdulaziz (1277-93 A.H. Corresponding To 1861-76 A.D.)
With curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point in front of the yelman, hilt comprising border engraved quillon-block with pointed langets (one incomplete) and tapering quillons, the latter each engraved with chevrons and with button terminal, grip-strap (loose) engraved with wrigglework borders, and rounded rhinoceros horn grips, the pommel pierced for a sword-knot, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather (old splits) with deep locket (damaged), chape and shaped suspension mounts each chased with flower-heads and borders en suite with the hilt, and with two rings for suspension (some wear overall)
