A Very Rare 40-Bore Sheath Patent Five-Shot Self-Cocking Percussion Revolver
Indistinctly Signed, No. 62, Circa 1853

With blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved around the muzzle and indistinctly signed with London retailer's details along the top flat, plain cylinder, blued border engraved open frame (action defective, barrel-screw replaced) decorated with foliate scrollwork and engraved 'Sheath's Patent No. 62' on one side, safety-stop, blued foliate scroll engraved trigger-guard, chequered rounded butt with ovoidal butt-cap, and traces of original blueing (some pitting overall), London proof marks
