With twist sighted barrel (scattered light pitting overall) engraved with a starburst forward of the breech, patent breech with gold line and platinum-lined touch-hole, tang engraved with a martial trophy and foliage involving a basket, serial numbered lock (cock fractured, steel refaced) with moulded border, gold-lined maker's oval, stepped tail, rainproof pan and roller, figured maple half-stock with chequered grip, steel mounts comprising butt-plate engraved with gamebirds and foliage on the heel tang, trigger-guard with symmetrical foliage on the bow, and trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons and fore-end cap, and brass-tipped ramrod, probably original (some wear overall), London proof marks; together with rare 'Game Duty Certificate D. for the Year 1831.' for 'The Person not being a Game-Keeper', a leather flint wallet containing a quantity of flints and a steel combination tool, a G. & J. W. Hawksley powder-flask with fluted bag-shaped body, and a leather shot-flask, the nozzle with shot-measure secured by a spring-catch (some wear) (5)

Henry Nock took livery in 1795, was elected Master of the Gunmakers' Company in 1802 and was appointed Gunsmith-in-Ordinary to King George III in 1789. He is famous for his seven-barrelled rifles and examples of his work are preserved in the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle. He died in 1804
