A .44 S&W (Russian) Smith & Wesson First Model Six-Shot Double-Action Centre-Fire Revolver
No. 6094, Circa 1881-1900

With hinged sighted barrel stamped with manufacturer's details and patent dates along the raised sighting rib, pivoting down for loading and automatically operating the sprung cartridge-extractor, fluted cylinder, frame with chequered sprung barrel-catch, D-shaped trigger-guard, chequered hard-rubber grips (worn) each with impressed S&W monogram, and retaining very faint traces of nickelling in places (rust patinated overall)
