An Indo-Persian Shamshir With Zulfiqar Blade
Late 18th/Early 19th Century

With curved waved single-edged blade terminating in a pierced Zulfiqar point decorated with gold-damascening, each tip of diamond section, the forte retaining traces of gold-damascened decoration on both sides, hilt comprising border engraved silver quillon-block with a foliate cartouche on each side, pointed langets, and tapering quillons with faceted button terminals, steel grip-strap en suite with the blade, and rounded bone grips retained by twisted silver wire at the base (wrist-strap and pommel missing)
