A Very Rare South Indian Sword
16th/17th Century

Similar to the last, with tapering double-edged blade, the projection over each side of the forte chiselled with a symmetrical design of foliage, the guard of larger form, pommel en suite and with a pierced iron mount on both sides chiselled with a trefoil and foliage, button finial, and swelling baluster grip (surface rust and light pitting overall)
