A 'Spanish' Morion Or Cabasset, An English Civil War Period Breast-Plate, And A Rear Gorget-Plate
The First North Italian, Late 16th Century, The Remainder Mid-17th Century

The first of iron and made in one piece, with almond-shaped skull rising to a short stalk at the top, the base encircled by later rivets on brass rosette-shaped washers, and downturned rim (split, minor repair) with recessed turned edge; the second with low medial ridge drawn out to a blunt point above a short flange at the base, turned neck and arms, and two staples for shoulder-straps; the last shaped to the back of the neck and shoulders, chased with foliage at each shoulder, turned border at the neck retaining faint traces of gilding, and lining rivets with domed brass heads (all with some surface rust and light pitting) (3)
