Two Swiss Or German Leaded Stained Glass Panels
The First Dated 1568, The Second 17th/18th Century

The first decorated in polychrome with a horseman in contemporary costume firing his wheel-lock pistol, in a landscape with his hound running by his side, viewed between draped Classical columns surmounted by a basket of fruit and two cherubs, a further pair of cherubs playing musical instruments beneath, the date divided by the decorator's(?) monogram below; the second decorated in polychrome with a merrymaking peasant couple in contemporary costume, and inscribed 'Mathias Hornung' above (2)
33 cm. x 25.4 cm. and 25.5 cm. x 18 cm. (in oak frames)

The second appears to be after an engraving by Hans Sebald Beham of Nuremberg
