The first with recurved blade double-edged at the point and with a short projection at the back towards the forte, hilt comprising cast brass guard formed as a quatrefoil and extending to a point along each side of the forte, chased with foliage and set with three jingles (one missing) along the medial ridge on both sides, cushion-shaped wooden pommel surmounted by circular brass and iron shims forming jingles and secured by a fluted button, and spirally-grooved tubular grip (some surface rust and pitting); the second of characteristic form (blade rust patinated), the hilt decorated with encrusted silver foliage (2)
