Mostly in excavated condition, the first two of bronze and retaining very faint traces of gilding, each with slender tapering downcurved heel-band, one with figure-eight terminals, the other with pierced rectangular terminals, the former with pointed goad of tapering square section, the latter with spherical goad drawn-out to a point; another of iron and of similar form, one heel-band with cross-hatched decoration, and retaining its buckle and leather hook; four others each with goad of various type, one retaining its buckle; the rowel spurs comprising an English example of brass, with tapering downcurved heel-bands of flattened triangular section with figure-eight terminals retaining the buckle and studs for leathers, moulded downcurved neck with star-shaped rowel of seven points, and decorated overall with punched designs; and two others of iron and in poor condition, one retaining its buckle and leather-hook (10)
