A German Silver-Mounted Left-Hand Dagger

With associated bright blade of flattened diamond section double-edged over half its length to the point, ricasso struck on one side with a heart-shaped bladesmith's mark, blackened iron hilt comprising downcurved quillons each springing from a moulding and widening towards the tip, the latter each set on the outside with a cast and chased silver 'Green Man's' mask with silver button terminal, side-ring filled with a plate with two heart-shaped piercings and set on the outside with a silver human head, stopper-shaped pommel with later engraved silver cap, and tapering silver grip of oval section engraved with a bold design of symmetrical foliage against a punched ground, a shouldered moulded mount above, in its wood-lined black leather scabbard (some wear and damage) with silver locket and chape decorated en suite with the hilt and each centred on an oval landscape, a town beyond, the chape with baluster terminal, the locket with aperture for a by-knife (missing) and integral suspension loop at the back (silver tarnished)
