A Composite Saxon Left-Hand Dagger

With tapering double-edged blade of slightly hollowed diamond section flattened for the thumb on one side at the ricasso, iron hilt comprising short slightly downbent gourd-shaped quillons and side-ring, the latter slightly widening and incised with two lines at the centre, the back of the quillon-block cut with chequering, compressed pommel of hexagonal section with medial moulding and flat button finial, and fishskin-covered grip with slender longitudinal reinforcing strips retained by a deeply cusped ferrule above and below (some pitting)
