An Italian Left-Hand Dagger
Early 17th Century

With stout sharply tapering blade of diamond section fluted centrally over most of its length forming a medial ridge along each side, ricasso en suite and flattened at the centre for the thumb, iron hilt comprising slender arched quillons with hooked terminals, circular side-ring, fluted barrel-shaped pommel with prominent button, and wire-bound grip between Turk's heads (some light pitting overall)
