A Left-Hand Dagger
Early 17th Century, Probably German

With tapering double-edged blade (some pitting) fullered over its entire length on both sides, iron hilt comprising straight quillons of oval section widening towards the tips with small button terminals and encrusted in silver on the outside with foliage and dots, side-ring formed as two loops with central oval and decorated en suite, globular pommel with button and encrusted in silver on both sides with a symmetrical design of foliage and dots, and swelling grip covered with interwoven cord and copper-wrapped binding between copper Turk's heads
