A Left-Hand Dagger In German Or Swiss Late 16th Century Style
19th Century

With broad tapering double-edged blade of slightly hollowed flattened diamond section, iron hilt comprising slightly downbent quillons with incised bud-shaped quillons, side-ring punched and incised with foliate decoration, compressed globular pommel decorated en suite and with button terminal, and swelling chevroned grip bound with plain iron and twisted brass wire with slender longitudial reinforcing strips retained by a cusped ferrule above and below (some minor pitting)
