An Unusual German Left-Hand Dagger

With broad tapering double-edged blade of slightly hollowed flattened diamond section cut with two converging central fullers over most of its length on each side, fluted ricasso struck with marks, one the pine cone mark of Augsburg, russet iron hilt of bars of diamond section comprising horizontally curved quillons with compressed faceted button tips with small button terminals, triangular upcurved basket-guard filled with three curved bars linked centrally and rising up to a finial shaped as a water fowl's head, pommel en suite with the quillon-tips, and swelling grip bound with twisted steel wire between Turk's heads
