An Italian Stiletto
Mid-17th Century

With sharply tapering blade of stiff diamond section cut with shallow ovals along each side and with ricasso of octagonal section, hilt comprising quillons with turned baluster terminals each emerging from a chiselled calyx, pommel en suite, and original leather-covered grip (wire-binding missing), in its original black leather scabbard (open along one side) with original iron locket en suite with the hilt and ring for suspension, and linear engraved chape with small spherical finial
