A Rare French Silver-Mounted Dagger

With slender leaf-shaped blade double-edged over half its length to the point and struck on one side with a cutler's mark, a crown enclosing two pellets, rectangular ricasso, hilt comprising ovoidal guard of dark horn with silver basal mount of hexagonal section formed as leaves over the sword and engraved with panels of foliate decoration divided on each side by a line of ropework, foliate pommel-cap en suite with button, and tapering dark horn grip of flattened oval section beaked at the top and fluted down both sides
