A Ballock Dagger In Flemish 15th Century Style
Probably 19th Century

With robust slightly curved blade of stiff diamond section towards the point, the forte single-edged and four-sided with a broad flat spine and struck on one side with a mark, a comet(?), the ricasso sheathed in brass decorated with punched scrollwork inhabited by flowers and foliage and diagonal bands, small lobed brass guard, spirally fluted swelling wooden grip, and slightly domed steel cap with central convex octagonal washer
