A Very Rare Viking Hoard Of Weapons For A Boy
9th Century

In excavated condition, comprising a sword of Petersen Type H and Wheeler Type II, with broad double-edged blade, hilt comprising ovoidal cross-piece, flat slender tang (broken), and cocked-hat pommel inlaid overall with close-set vertical silver lines (losses); a war-axe with crescentic cutting-edge, tall socket and bluntly-pointed peen; three Scramasax blades; and a lance-head of stiff diamond section with integral socket (7)
