A Rare Celtic Iron Age (La Tène) Sword
Circa 400-100 B.C.

In excavated condition, with broad double-edged blade seized in the remains of its iron scabbard, the former with tapering medial ridge over its entire length on both sides, and slender tapering tang, the latter made in two pieces originally crimped over around the edges on one side, the locket area on one side with incised decoration comprising four circles surmounted by a pair of birds
