The first with sharply tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section and pierced with keyhole slots within the double fullers on both sides of the forte, hollowed rectangular ricasso stamped with a bladesmith's mark, a crowned 'B', iron hilt of flattened bars comprising downbent rear quillon, arms, the tips linked by two concentric side-rings, the larger upper one linked at the top by a curved bar to the knuckle-guard, and inner trifurcated guard of slender rounded bars swept-up and joined to the knuckle-guard above, barrel-shaped pommel with button, and spirally-fluted grip bound with twisted copper wire of varying degrees of thickness; the second (surface rust overall) with tapering blade of flattened hexagonal section fullered over half its length at the forte, hilt of swept rounded bars, flattened barrel-shaped pommel with button, and swelling wire-bound grip (2)
