With tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section finely etched and gilt against a blued ground over nearly its entire length on both sides with masonic symbols comprising a sword, a cockerel, the Lamb of God, a cross, a star, a foot, a hand, a skull and crossed bones above a coffin, a man-in-the-moon, a sun-in-splendour, and an all-seeing eye, all above a panel of foliage at the forte, ormolu hilt with small side-guard filled with a rose, short recurved lobed quillons, the front one linked to the pommel by a gilt knuckle-chain, lion-mask pommel, its mane extending down the back-piece, and partly fluted ivory grips, in its original black leather scabbard (minor surface loss) with linear engraved ormolu mounts, two rings for suspension, and in fine condition retaining virtually all its original gilding and blueing, complete with its black patent leather waist-belt with ormolu mounts (one suspension tab loose), the clasps each embossed and chased with foliage involving eagle's head, the interior of the belt inscribed in ink 'John Jones Jany 10th 1846 Stork ...' (the remainder of the inscription defaced)
