A Scottish Dirk Of A Volunteer Regiment Of The Black Watch
Late 19th Century

With tapering single-edged blade notched and fullered along the back, swelling rootwood grip carved with basketweave and set with silver studs on the outside, white-metal basal mount cast and chased with thistles, and pommel carved with leaves and set with a foiled piece of faceted glass in imitation of a cairngorm, in original wood-lined scabbard covered in black patent leather with border engraved white-metal locket, chape and mounts for the by-knife and fork each set with thistles, the locket centred on the figure of St. Andrew, the by-knife and fork en suite with the dirk
