A Rare Georgian Cavalry Trooper's Sword
Circa 1760-80

With tapering single-edged blade (some pitting) stamped with indistinct 'GR' crowned on one side towards the forte, and with 'GR' crowned over 'IEF'/'RIS' on the other, slotted steel hilt rising up to form the knuckle-guard, replacement globular pommel, and fishskin-covered grip (damaged, minor worming) bound with twisted brass wire
