A George V 1828 Pattern Scottish Officer's Basket-Hilted Broadsword
By Wm. Anderson & Sons Ltd., 14 George St., Edinburgh

With bright fullered blade etched over half its length on each side with thistles and crowned 'GRV' cypher, the hilt with regulation nickel-plated basket-guard retaining its buff-leather liner faced with red woollen cloth, and wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its nickel-plated scabbard with two rings for suspension; together with a highland dirk of characteristic form, the pommel set with a foiled piece of faceted glass in imitation of a cairngorm (2)
