By Hawkes & Co., London, Manuf.tr. To The Queen, Late 19th Century

With slender tapering blade etched with foliage including thistles over most of its length on each side, regulation gilt hilt cast and chased with foliage and including down-bent shell-guard with applied silver thistles, grip bound with twisted copper wire, and retaining its bullion sword-knot, in its black leather scabbard (damaged above the chape) with gilt mounts engraved with florets within strapwork, the locket with frog-stud
